LHC and the Internet revolution waiting to happen

As an avid Digg user, there are things that I learn about varied topics on a daily basis. One such thing is the Large Haldron Collider aka LHC. I am not going to delve into what this is because I am still not certified enough to explain it to others. But what I can do is point people to it. Its probably something everyone is familiar with and I was just let on the scene. Nevertheless, its pretty intriguing and incredible with whats happening within and in association with the LHC. I am linking couple of articles that are an easy read and give you an idea of what this is all about:
This is a video - This is a video of Brian Cox, a physicist, pretty cool I should say. You could look up more on Wiki about the LHC and why this is important.
As an adjunct and maybe more important to us online addicts is this article below. This talks about how it could become possible for petabytes(million gigabytes)of data to be transmitted between systems seamlessly. Download speeds as we see today could be shattered by a mile if all this works out.

Incidentally I also read that CERN(The European Organization Nuclear Research) was behind the invention of the World Wide Web in 91'

All this is probably no news for you all but if it is do check the links out

Adios,
Prem
